Mike and Alexa’s wedding was held at Pinehall at Eisler Farms in Butler PA on Sunday August 18, 2024.
Typically, after a wedding day, I can’t stop thinking about it or talking about it for a good 8 hours post wedding. But it’s been a strong 36 hours and I’m STILL talking about how incredibly special Mike and Alexa’s day was. In fact, my husband is just prepared for the next words out of my mouth to be SOMETHING else about the 18th of August.
Alexa took Mike’s breath away as they started their wedding day with a first look and personalized wedding vows. (Should I mention every time I cried throughout the day?? Because this wasn’t the first moment, but maybe the moment I cried THEE MOST.) Their vows were intimate, Christ centered, full of love and precious giggles, all intermixed.
As a photographer, I get to witness most of the precious moments; the planned moments, the sometimes-spontaneous moments and all of the moments in-between. But one of the moments I wasn’t prepared for at Mike and Alexa’s wedding, was when I walked back towards the girls’ bridal suite, and witnessed all of the groomsmen huddled together outside, praying over the day and for Mike and Alexa’s new lives. (*insert more tears*)
It wasn’t long after that the girls all gathered together to also pray over the day, and the start of the marriage.
With beautiful moments like corporate worship during their ceremony, the gospel being presented, and the selfless acts that were demonstrated all day from Mike and Alexa, The Elias’s wedding will forever be engraved in my heart.
Personally, I would’ve previously said “I wouldn’t change a thing about my own wedding day…” BUT— I may have to change my line. It may go something like this, “I wouldn’t change anything about my wedding day, except I would add a choreographed dance with my sister.” (*giggle*) Moriah, who was her maid of honor and who is clearly Alexa’s best friend, jumped out on the dance floor to dance to a song that they had choreographed together. It. Was. The. Best!! Sisters. A true gift from The Lord.
Mike and Alexa, THANK YOU. Thank you for the honor of being your photographer and for the friendship that was built. As a sister in Christ, I pray for many years of a sweet and wonderful marriage. I pray that you both will put each other before yourselves and keep Christ as the Head and the center. Congratulations, Elias’s!
